Reset your myLIT account password without contacting the Help Desk. Reset Password
What you will need
- Your T-number or username
- Your date of birth
- Access to the personal email address on file with LIT - it must match exactly
Who can use this tool
- Students and employees
- First-time users setting up a password
- Users with a forgotten or expired password
Steps
Step 1 - Fill out the reset form
Select your role. Enter your T-number/username, date of birth, and personal email address, then click Reset My Password The system validates your information against LIT records.

Step 2 - Check your email
If validated, a confirmation page appears and a reset email is sent to your personal email address.

Step 3 - Copy the access code first, then click the link
Open the email, copy the access code, then click the reset link. The link is single-use - entering the code after clicking a second time will invalidate it and you will need to start over.

Step 4 - Create your new password
Enter the access code and your new password. A confirmation message will appear indicating your password has been changed successfully. You can now log in using your new password.

Common Issues
Date of birth is incorrect
Enter your date of birth exactly as it appears in our records.
Email address does not match
The email entered does not match what is on file.
T-number or username does not exist
Verify your T-number is entered correctly with the T prefix. Example: T12345678. If the issue continues, contact the Help Desk.
Admin or restricted account
Admin accounts cannot use self-service password reset. Contact IT Support directly.
When to Contact the Help Desk
- You cannot complete the reset after multiple attempts
- Your personal email in Banner is outdated
- You receive repeated validation errors
- You have an admin or special access account
