Reset your myGator account password without contacting the Help Desk. Reset Password
What you will need
- Your R-number or username
- Your date of birth
- Access to the personal email on file with LSCO - it must match exactly
Who can use this tool
- Students and employees
- First-time users setting up a password
- Users with a forgotten or expired password
Steps
Step 1 - Fill out the reset form
Enter your R-number, date of birth, and personal email, then click Reset My Password. The system validates your information against LSCO records.

Step 2 - Check your email
If validated, a confirmation page appears and a reset email is sent to your personal email address.

Step 3 - Copy the access code first, then click the link
Open the email and copy the access code before clicking the reset link. The link is single-use - clicking it a second time will invalidate it and you will need to start over.

Step 4 - Create your new password
Enter the access code and your new password. A green confirmation message confirms the change was successful.

Common Issues
Date of birth is incorrect
Enter your date of birth exactly as it appears in Banner.
Email address does not match
The email entered does not match what is on file.
Username does not exist
Verify your R-number is entered correctly with the R prefix. Example: R12345678. If the issue continues, contact the Help Desk.
Admin or restricted account
Admin accounts cannot use self-service password reset. Contact IT Support directly.
When to Contact the Help Desk
- You cannot complete the reset after multiple attempts
- Your personal email in Banner is outdated
- You receive repeated validation errors
- You have an admin or special access account
