LSCPA Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) is a Microsoft-delivered service that lets enrolled users reset their own password. You MUST enroll with SSPR before you try to use it to reset your password.

LSCPA Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) is a Microsoft-delivered service that lets enrolled users reset their own password. You MUST enroll with SSPR before you try to use it to reset your password.

  • Your information is protected.
    • Authentication phone numbers and authentication email addresses are not visible in the directory, nor are they saved in Banner. The only people who can see the alternative authentication phone and email address are you and LSCPA Information Technology Services system administrators. Only YOU can see the answers to your security questions.
  • You cannot change your office phone.
    • Changes to office phone numbers must be submitted to HR.
  • You may need to reconfirm your information.
    • After a period of time, and to ensure you still have the appropriate methods registered, LSCPA may require you to confirm your authentication methods.

1. Enrolling in SSPR

  1. Open a web browser and go to the SSPR Registration Page.
  2. If prompted, enter your MyLamarPA username (your LSCPA email address) and password.
  3. You can configure up to three additional pieces of information on your account:
    • Alternative Authentication Phone (call or text): For students, a mobile (preferred) or home phone number. For faculty and staff, a mobile number (preferred) or number other than your office phone.
    • Alternative Authentication Email: An email other than your LSCPA email address.
    • Security Questions: If you select this option, you will need to set up 5 questions and answers.
    • You cannot configure office phone. That must be configured by LSCPA Information Technology Services.
  4. See instructions below for setting up each option and completing enrollment.

You will receive a phone call, text, or email message while doing setup to verify that method of communication is working. You will need access to the email or phone during this process.

2. Setting up Alternative Authentication Phone (call or text)

  1. Select the "Set it up now" link next to "Authentication Phone..."
  2. Set your Region Code [typically United States (+1)].
  3. Enter your 9-digit phone number.
  4. Select either the "Text Me" or "Call Me" button to verify the phone number. Only one option needs to be completed.

2.1 Text Me Option

  1. You will receive a text message with a code from Microsoft.
  2. Enter this code in the box provided.
  3. Select the "Verify" button.
  4. If you entered the correct code, you will be taken back to the setup screen.
  5. If you have problems with the first code, you can select the "try again" link next to the "Verify" button.

2.2 Call Me Option

  1. You will receive a call from Microsoft. Answer the call.
  2. When prompted on the phone, tap the # key.
  3. If successful, you will be taken back to the setup screen.

3. Setting up Alternative Authentication Email

  1. Select the "Set it up now" link next to "Authentication Email..."
  2. Enter an email address other than your MyLamarPA (@lamarpa.edu) email address. Make sure you use an email address you can access now and will be able to access any time you need to reset your password.
  3. Select the "email me" button.
  4. You will receive an email from Microsoft with a verification code. If you do not receive the email within a few minutes, check your junk email or spam folder.
  5. Enter the verification code into the verification box and select the "Verify" button.
  6. If you entered the correct code, you will be taken back to the setup screen.
  7. If you have problems with the first code, you can select the "try again" link next to the "Verify" button.

4. Setting up Security Questions

  1. Select the "Set them up now" link next to "Security Questions..."
  2. Choose 5 questions from and provide answers. Note that you will have to provide a different answer for each question. Do not share the answers to these questions with anyone.
  3. After completing all questions, select the "save answers" button.
  4. If successful, you will be taken back to the setup screen.

5. Completing Enrollment

Once you have set up an authentication phone, authentication email, or security questions successfully, you will be able to complete the process by selecting the "finish" button on the setup screen. You only have to set up one, but you may set up more if you like to provide more options to verify your identity if you need to reset your password.

NOTE: You MUST select the "finish" button to complete your enrollment. If you do not select "finish" your changes will be lost. You may be prompted for your password after selecting the "finish" button.

6. Updating Your Settings

  1. Open a web browser and go to the SSPR Registration Page.
  2. Select "Change" next to the setting you want to update.
  3. Follow the instructions for each setting.
  4. You may also set up new methods at this time.
  5. Select the "finish" button when you are done.
